A gorgeously vibrant travel poster, designed as part of the French Railway series (Chemins de Fer de L'Est), advertising the enticing destination of Venice, Italy. Two women in the marketplace, the classic gondola in the rear, and two sailboats further in the distance, sprinkled with ancient Roman buildings, make you want to pack your suitcase and book a flight right away. The colours are absolutely beautiful on this poster depicted as only can be done on an original lithograph.

The poster was designed by Ernest-Louis Lessieux (1848-1925) who was a French painter, watercolorist and poster designer.

Particulars: This lithographic poster has been professionally conserved and backed on acid-free linen paper (see poster and print conservation and restoration).
