CYCLES COTTEREAU "sont les meilleurs" or "are the best" advertises this enormous poster. Designed in a gorgeous fairytale-like, art nouveau style, it was designed for the Dijon-based bicycle company in 1897 by René Prejelan (1877-1968). René was a French illustrator and poster artist. In the early 20th century, he produced sequential pages for La Joie des Enfants (1905) and the comic 'Jo et Josette' for Qui Lit Rit (around 1905-07). He also illustrated for La Vie Parisienne.

Particulars: This lithographic poster has been backed on acid-free linen paper (see poster and print conservation and restoration). It is in good condition, with some slight spot discolouration (see at base of the well goddess sits on), some restored and repaired tears (e.g.: see above pond flowers), and some slight and sporadic paper bubbling. Overall there is not significant damage.
