Elna released its first sewing machine in 1940, the Elna #1. It was the first portable, free-arm sewing machine with electronic motor and built-in light, The carrying case also served as a sewing table. Invented by Ramon Casas, this machine constituted a revolution in the field of household sewing machines. After a long and successful history the company continues to be a leader in world of sewing. This light-hearted poster was created by Swiss artist Donald Brun (1909-1999) for the Elna Sewing Machine Company.  Brun was one of the most successful Swiss graphic artists of his days and create many posters many of which have come to highlight the distinctly Swiss poster style.
