This illustration was designed by M. Pepin in 1930 for French Le Sourire magazine. Le Sourire or "the Smile" was a French satirical journal that featured top notch artistic talent. It was published in Paris on the Boulevard Saint-Germain. The journal first appeared in 1899 and ran until the final year of the Great War. Each issue included sixteen pages of large illustrations plus a color cover.
